Poetry and Creative writing workshop with Joy Winkler
‘Music has Charms to sooth a savage Breast, To soften Rocks or bend a knotted Oak.’ – William Congreve (often misquoted as ‘Music soothes a savage beast’).
In this creative writing workshop, we will use the magic that music inspires and give it a voice in our stories, poetry, and prose.
The workshop will include fun exercises and writing challenges, and is suitable for writers at all levels.
Joy Winkler is a former Cheshire Poet Laureate, a published author and novelist, playwright and a highly experienced workshop facilitator. She has also been the Poet in Residence at Tatton Park Knutsford, which has enabled both workshops and publications to emerge from her tenure there.
This workshop will be based in the beautiful Georgian Music Room at Clonter Brook Farm in the heart of the lush Cheshire countryside. The Music Room is surrounded by idyllic and stimulating settings, of the farm gardens and lake. The Goosfest Art Exhibition will also be nearby in the Art Gallery, which has free admission.
The event includes a full day workshop with Joy and includes tea/coffee and biscuits. Please bring your own packed lunch. Parking is outside and toilet facilities are close by.
