Goostrey Parish Archive Group Exhibition
This exhibition will include a wide range of documents, pictures and artefacts from what has always been an active and community-spirited village.
There will even be a poster advertising the 1928 Goostrey Wakes when a pound of tea worth 12 shillings was the prize for a tea drinking competition for the 12 oldest ladies!
Exhibits also include a professionally taken album of photographs of children in their everyday activities at Goostrey Primary School in the mid-1960s. A number of people still living in the village can be identified. Are you one of them? Can you spot past residents on photographs in our large collection?
All are welcome and you will be encouraged to share your memories of what makes our village so special.
