Goosfest Comedy Night
Goosfest Comedy Night is an annual highlight and always a sell out event. This year we have gone the extra mile to raise the standard even higher and bring you some of the funniest and talented comedians working the professional circuit.
Jon Pearson – Compere
Jon began stand-up comedy in 2010 & he has risen to now perform at the biggest and best comedy clubs across the UK including The Glee Club, The Comedy Store & Jongleurs. Jon’s laid-back storytelling and tales of his own life experiences have audiences hanging onto his every word. Based in the Midlands, Jon is the resident MC at his own comedy night ‘Wax Comical’ in Melton Mowbray.
Marvyn Dickinson – Opening Act
Our Opening Act is Marvyn Dickinson who was a Nando’s New Comedian of the Year 2014 finalist. He has appeared regularly on television in a range of shows including Rough and Ready, That Day We Sang, Citizen Khan, Definitely Not Newsround, The Slammer and Emmerdale. He has that indefinable x-factor – some comics have and some don’t – and the result is one very warm and incredibly funny act.
Hannah Silvester – Middle Act
Hannah has been on the national stand-up circuit since 2010. Her adult set combines frank and honest comedy with a warm delivery & the occasional comedy song thrown in for good measure. In 2014 she was a finalist in both the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award & the Nottingham Comedy Festival Comedian of the Year. She also won The Midlands Comedy Awards for best Breakthrough Act. In 2015.
Hannah performed her first solo hour show ‘The Ballad of Hannah Silvester’ to a full house & received great reviews.
Steve Royle – Headline Act.
For over 12 years Steve could be found in the guise of ‘Mad Edgar’ the court Jester at Camelot theme park where he presented over 2000 ‘Crazy Juggling Shows’. He has also supported Peter Kay & Dave Spikey on tour & was voted “Entertainer of the Year” at the recent Red Rose awards. His many TV appearances have included “Phoenix Nights”, “Max & Paddy”, “Behind The Scene”, “That’s Entertainment”, “Stand-up Britain”, “Give Your Mate A Break”, “The Afternoon Show”, “Talk Of The North”, “The Things You Do For Love”, and despite being one of the North West’s healthiest males, a medical insurance commercial for “Medicash”. Steve is co-founder of the “Slaughterhouse-Live” (“Laughter” with an “S”) character comedy nights. The group regularly perform at “The Comedy Store” & they were nominated in the “best touring show” category at the Manchester Comedy Awards, losing out to Peter Kay!
