'Capturing the Aurora Borealis' by Dr Anthony Holloway
Dr Anthony Holloway, from Jodrell Bank, has regularly run astrophotography courses at Jodrell Bank to sell out audiences and we are delighted that this year he is bringing his expertise and fabulous photos of the Northern Lights to Goosfest.
If you have ever had an unsuccessful trip to see the Aurora, been disappointed with the photos you captured or simply not had the chance to go, then this is the opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis in all its glory from the comfort of Goosfest.
The Aurora is an incredible natural light show caused by the interaction of particles streaming from the Sun in the solar wind and the Earth’s magnetic field. This results in the excitation of gases in our atmosphere which produce the aurora and Anthony has used his skill and passion for astrophotography to capture it at its best.
