Beware of Trains - Cabaret with Marie Claire Breen and Leighton Jones
‘Beware of Trains’ can be described as “English music hall, melodious chamber pop, unrestrained romanticism, heavenly harmonies and a dollop of Disney on the side”.
The show is performed by a duo – pianist, singer/ songwriter/ producer Leighton Jones (former keyboardist for the multi award winning, ’The Peatbog Faeries’), and Scottish operatic soprano Marie Claire Breen (“a soprano of rare fluency” – The Daily Mail). They are joined by multi-instrumentalist Laura McIntosh, who is a senior lecturer at Leeds Conservatoire.
Formed in 2018 after meeting on a Scottish Opera articulated lorry converted into a touring theatre, they forged a musical collaboration combining their shared love of Kate Bush, The Devine Comedy, Musical Theatre, collecting vinyl and playing vintage board games.
They have performed the show at gala concerts, arts and music festivals and also to a packed Bradford Cathedral at ‘A Kitmas Concert’.
Marie Claire and Leighton will include an eclectic mix of their own songs together with well-known hits performed in their own formidable style.
